If it makes you feel better. It may not be blood as in the blood that flows in the viens but it's still blood, at that point it's just what you label it.  You can define lots of layers of skin but it's still skin, dermius or epidermus, it's the same thing in reality. Whatever the case is, the blood (or not blood) in stake is tasty and that's all that matters.

I don't really care either way. I ate it when I thought it was blood, and I still eat it. They both have proteins which make it red, but not blood.
