It's never a good idea to confront sociopaths unless you are police or military.
I learned very early on that even eye contact can land you in a hospital so I keep my head down. That's why I'm still alive and so many other people aren't.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
