The people and player, the fans, boycott and other actions can do very much in the world. Not just in politics :) Your voice counts, if you want more singleplayer games. We humans on the great VGChartz-site make this thing big!
edit: Maybe Gaf is also involved. And many fans on Twitter by video game developers.
