The latter: Ninty must blame only itself for killing Wii too early, if we look at the chart, Wii was for many, many months almost as strong as PS4, managing to outsell it monthly a few times and even LTD, temporarily, a couple of times, then it started declining early and eventually plummeted while PS3 and XB360, the rivals it previously almost slaughtered, were still selling well.
