I Hate To Say It, but the PS3 Might Not Get a Price Cut (My Opinion Inside)

Hmmm, why is everybody so sure, it cost 850$ to produce a PS3 (or did at startup?). All i can find in the internet are estimates that goes from 499-900$. How much is a ps3 in Japan? 399$? I think those may be sold at a loss of 200$. Sorry folks, nobody except sony knows how much this thing cost to produce exactly. But at Startup, they had a lot of Problems to produce these things (Wasn't that why it was delayed in Europe?). Thats maybe why it has such a high price tag in Europe/US?

And nobody knows how fast the production cost are falling, coused by falling production cost of the "blue ray player". It is most likley that thing will drop realy fast, because so much are produced right now. Hell, for all we know, its possible sony already got even for it (in the US and Europe). The hell, the first "Stand Alone Blue Ray Player" cost about $1000, and know we are at what? 400-500$?

And somehow, Sony seems to win the "Format war", lot of news say, there more blue ray movies sold, then HD-DVDs (And thats the thing that counts). That truly wouldn't be the case without the PS3 (Blue Ray Player are more expensive that HD-DVD Players, and no much Blue Ray Standalone are sold).

The Heck, i think, right before X-Mass, the price of the PS3 will drop, about 100$ (100$) in one way ore another (Bundles).

But the Price not the only problem the PS3 is having. The games cost about 10-15 €/$ more than on other plattforms (And that consider customers too!). The WII is stealing "Casual" and "Hardcore"* gamers as buyers. And the XBOX360 is a harder competitor than the XBox was (despite the "Ring of Death").

*Oh yeah is see it comming, the WII can not compete with the PS3 Graphicwise, and thats a "big deal" for Hardcore Gamers. Well, might be true, but Hardcore gamers have a gaming pc. They also bought a ps2 for the "casual normal consol games" but a lot of this people will get a WII this generation. Why? Coused by Price, Controls. And I don't think they are willing to Pay 600$ more just to have better graphics on a Sports game. A lot of people here seem to forget that much people have a PC. And that things beats the PS3 and the XBox graphicswise. These guys don't buy console just because it has the better graphics, only because some games are ment to be played on consoles, not PC. All i seen so far on PS3/XBox360 is maybe a little better than HL2 (Graphicwise) an the hell, that game is 2 years old, and runs on my 2 year old system in HD (1600X1200) without any problem.
