Most likely VI. (Kefka, the Opera scene all that way back then). VII is close for me though and X isn't bad but there is too much talking.
I think the best final fantasies were those that didn't take themselves so seriously and there were moments of humour. After VII that just died and the games became graphic orgies. Just my opinion though.
