For a number of years Nintendo's sales were not good almost everywhere except Japan.  So a lot of nintendo fanboys on gaf who liked to brag about sales found a safe haven on their mediacreate thread.  Obviously happy with Nintendo performance in Japan but constantly downplaying the ps4 in Japan since it launch being really negative about it.

Every game not announced for a Nintendo platform was stupid according to them and the port begging was hilarious. It actually became a meme.

Anyway,  I'd rather not see these guys come over here but if they do so be it.

Nintendo beasting with the DS and Wii is why I got interested in sales (check my reg date) and I'm hardly alone. Sony pulls huge numbers with their PS consoles but sales come from every corner of the World where we don't get any charts/sales info so it's just not generating stuff  to talk about like Media Create does.

Regarding Japan specifically, there hasn't been a period in the last 10 years where Sony really dominated, the PSP resurgence in 2009-2010 was the closest thing to that but it didn't last very long and was overshadowed by the 3DS launch in 2011. Resident Evil PSP and future Monster Hunter games moving to the 3DS killed the PSP. When the PS Vita didn't catch on Sony definitely became a lot less relevant since Japan is so handheld focused.

PS4 is only doing slightly better than the PS3, the fourth best selling console last gen. If anything, the constant "bu- bu- Asia sales!" or "bu- bu- the West!" in response to low PS4 JP software sales was a meme.

The reality here is you had these posters interested in sales in general taking a special interest in Japan because it was the only place Nintendo was winning.

As I said there was a period where the hive mind on Japan gaf didn't even give the ps4 a chance of succeeding 5M in sales.  you would be laughed out the gate if you said ps4 would do 8m+ nevermind 10m which is clearly possible.
