Most of these games aren't costing them a fortune. Most of them don't need to sell that much to turn a profit. The simple truth is the 3DS is slowly on it's way out and Nintendo knows it. There is still a market, which is why we're still getting games for it, but they're not the same quality games that we got back in 2013-2014. At this point, the 3DS is being kept alive by Nintendo and Atlus but not much else.
