I knew I had this in the back of my mind for some reason. I'm kind of lost here to be quite honest. It started off amazingly but then halfway through there were some clear weirdness that created complications for the series that I noticed. The old man being a demon the entire time was a pretty good plot twist. In any case, the post timeskip was when things really went downhill with no real reason why. The Empress and Noritsune were nowhere to be found despite being very broken characters. Wolf boy is no longer there nor is mysterious musician swordsman-man despite the latter being tied to the plot. Chiyo becomes the corpse parts of Jo Jo and it becomes a bizzare adventure in retrieving them. Her brother was also alive... yay? The whole death rejection thing was funny though. Uratarou had a lot of potential to change postively as a character but never really does that in either personality or physical ability. He became too much of a Shonen character, especially with his attack name. The very end was ok, by then I had made my peace that it was ending and Uratarou at least had a better resolution as a character by the very end. I wish that the series had a lot more time to flesh itself out, but overall I'd say I enjoyed it enough. It just felt that by the end especially it was a rush job like it was cancelled or something. |
Yeeah, I know how you feel. I feel like Ernie in the gif, laughing as you learn about the truth. Yeah, it definitely rocked the audience, and likely not in a good way either. The shift in the story was too drastic. It suddenly killed off an important main character and drastically changed the personality of the other, likely not in the best way either. It was like he was trying too hard to be like Chiyo. And even when he managed to restore Chiyo's body, things still went terribly, only to end with a weird, but... alright happy ending? I'm not even sure if both characters accomplished their goals either. It just felt rushed and imcomplete. It likely got canceled, resulting in this ending. It was a bit of a shame it had to end so soon, with so many loose ends, but it was fun while it lasted.
