If Nintendos plans for China come into fruition then WW numbers may well be much higher than just 10M for the Switch and put it on par with the PS4 there too. Europe will be counterbalanced by US and Japan, so there's actually a good chance that this will be at least an interesting race.

Mainland China is a weird situation though since nobody knows how a traditional portable would fare there (I don't count the iQue attempts by Nintendo in the past as sincere efforts).  What we do know now with the relative failures of the PS4 and xbone in China is that traditional consoles are about as popular there as playing smartphone games on a TV.  Because of this, Nintendo might be better off just ditching the dock for the Chinese market and selling the Switch as a handheld that can also be played in tabletop mode. That would probably increase their chances for success in that market.
