... that doesn't change the fact that it took PD four years to release half a game. And, to be honest, it's not even just the amount of content that is baffling, it's what they focus on. Making car porn instead of a fully featured Gran Turismo title. Feel free to disagree. Yeah, the franchise has always been car porn, with detailed history of cars and manufacturers in pretty much every game, and amazing looking replays. But it used to have this in addition to a deep single player offering, and no limits multiplayer, now that's gone, in the chase of esports nonsense lol.

Not disagreeing with you about the car porn, yet no limits multiplayer is still there. The lobby system is perfectly intact from GT5 and GT6 and has only been expanded upon with more customization options.

Deep single player offering is indeed a lot less deep. GT5 had procedurally generated rally stages and a track editor next to driving in changing light and weather conditions. GT6 ditched the track editor and endurance races. GTS so far is just racing in static conditions. Apart from the one wet night stadium track I've only seen dry conditions in daylight.

I've mixed feelings aout the whole thing. Driving feels better than ever, it's just as addictive as before, and it's the best looking racing game in HDR. The VR  offering however is a joke. Sony is currently bundling GT Sport with PSVR in Europe, are they idiots? Here's your brand new VR headset, but wait, first you must play on the screen to unlock more than the 3 starter tracks and starter car so you can tour around the tracks in VR with zero gameplay. Great advertisement for VR.

The campaign is fun so far, yet I'm already at 50% and haven't even been to the car showroom as the game is giving you so many cars I don't even want to look at the garage. There's no feeling of ownership over all those random cars. There's no feeling of progression either, one stage you're in a race car, the next in something that can hardly get up the hill and won't turn corners.

GT Sport is frustratingly good. And that's not meant as a compliment. I'm still itching to play more, just wondering what I'll do after finishing the campaign. Tour around in VR once it's all unlocked, see if multiplayer can get me interested, or go back to VR until they add more content.
