It's absolutely mindblowing to me, that none of these guys, when faced with the accusation that they're supposedly being disrespectful, come back with the fact that kneeling has been nothing but a sign of respect and obedience for like all of human history. I mean seriously lol.....the most powerful men on earth for thousands of years wanted nothing more than to see you kneel, but now all of a sudden it's a sign of disrespect? Is this real life? |
In China it used to be considered very disrespectful if you weren't on your knees when talking to the emperor. I remember reading a story where the Chinese were outraged when Japanese diplomats refused to kneel down and instead stood face-to-face with the emperor.
