I don't believe the $800 price to make anyway. And even if it was true, I'm pretty sure it will be significantly less than that now. And once they get the bluray players down as well...they are starting to fall now...they should be able to reduce costs even further.
Sony WILL have a pricecut and at the latest, it will happen by the summer of next year although I reckon it will happen in November this year.

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.
