Are there many car chases in the UK? Isn't the policy to get the details and pick up the driver later in a safe manner, instead of endangering the public in a car chase?

Does it even make you a better street driver, practicing a race course in a game to familiarize yourself with the track has benefits of course, nothing like driving fast on local streets I would imagine.

Can't say I've ever seen one, but I think there are. I mean, taking the car's details and picking the driver up later doesn't work in the case of stolen cars, so in cases like that it's chase them or let them get away. I doubt they'd let anyone that had been involved in a violent crime just drive away to pick up later either.

It depends

It doesn't matter how well the police can drive, the person in pursuit can lose control of their vehicle at any time. When I still lived in The Netherlands a police officer got suspended for merely following a car on the emergency lane, public safety first. Unless you deal with a deranged psychopath on a killing spree, yet how often does that happen.

On the otherhand, 1 year later

Doesn't London have a camera on every corner by now? No need to follow them physically anymore, or is that still sci-fi :)
