so... they are reported then... just not to the authorities who are actually in a position to do something about these reports

secondly there really is not a way therefore ( since they are self reported ) to verify the validity of the claims to begin with

and the point i'm trying to make is this - in these matters it all has to come down to evidence and the reporting of that evidence

sure as a consequence many cases will slip through the cracks because the nature of these incidents is that they generally happen in 1 on 1 settings in private, but that is the reality of living in a free society where people are free to make whatever choices they want to do

Rape and sexual assault are the price of living in a free society?  I think we are done here.

instead of getting emotional, can you suggest a tangible solution to the problem of people having the capacity for evil and having the wherewithal to act on evil impulses?

communism (reducing freedom of choice dramatically) seems to be the most common answer people have been pushing (whether they realise it consciously or not)

it is risk and danger that are the price of living in a free society, you can throw all of that way for security, but the price you must pay is to give away your freedom of privacy, individuality etc etc etc

both choices suck, but personally i'd rather have more freedom to shape my destiiny and i think most people would too but they are unwilling to endure the risk and danger that comes along with it
