I never use line assist, it's too intrusive and distracting. I also turned the corner markers off, didn't see the point of those. I do rely on the braking indicator in GT games. The flashing gear indicator is very useful for timing the actual braking point as it's always a little bit before. Flash flash flash break now kinda countdown, # of flahses depending on the corner. Then after a while it becomes natural. |
For me was the opposite, I was always doing my best to match the line and could really see the difference in time on the corners between my usual breaking point and line of corn against what was offered as assist.
But yes I would usually brake a little later than the initial red line or the assist information.
But with DC removing those cues I got better at recognizing track signs for breaking and then deciding my line, was able to gold all challenges.
Never mind ghosts, I only see them as a form to see if I'm ahead or behind and if I'm being able to close up. Unless it's a target ghost and I'll also use it to learn the points.
Let's see how Nurb on GT will be on VR. I used to be able to get silver time on GT5, but alway unable to really do a full lap with 0 mistakes on very fast cars. To long for 0 mistakes.

Yup... those licenses were really the draw of the game back then. I felt almost wrong playing GTS this past few days and having access to certain cars. I was even gifted some of them for just driving a certain amount of miles through normal gaming?????!!!!! WTF?? Like so whats the point? Sigh..... games have really gotten easy these days. I never used the assists.... I found that they do make you become dependent on them. I just did tracks over and over again yntil I mastered them.... oh, and race against your ghost. |
Yes it was strange, but I done all challenges and lap attacks before going to the online. But yes getting high grade cars for driving 40km a day is strange and will end up with full garage quite fast.
Well I may be a little worse driver than you and Svennoj, but the line really helped me get on the track an by seeing how much I was deviating (not trying to correct during the corner) made me gold the licenses and challenges... on GT5 I got gold in all but 2 S level licenses and all challenges but Nurb and Vettel.
