You seem to have an unhealthy obsession with communism. When did I say I was for communism? I only said at the beginning that capitalism defeated communism but capitalism only got us so far, you are deluded if you believe capitalism is the ultimate solution to our problems and that nothing better will ever be invented. As for evolution its point is to produce (eventually) intelligence and self awareness which it has done with us humans and intelligence has allowed us to extract ourselves from the food chain and to master technology which in turn we use to better our lives so from that point it is logical to assume that eventually we'll create a society where predatory systems are a thing of the past, it cannot be otherwise cause without it, intelligence would be pointless, if we are only capable of creating a system that is predatory in its own way, there would be no substantial difference between staying in nature with its food chain and extracting ourselves from it. You obviously don't understand evolution since you don't understand this concept. And yes, humanity is definitely uncivilized, what part of the wars, the abuses, slavery and other such predatory behaviors of humans you don't understand, what is civilized about that? And you add that we can never be perfect. But I never said we will ever be. But that does not mean we will NEVER develop a non predatory culture. How can you say we won't? Do you know the future? Do you know what mankind will be thousands of years from now? No, you most definitely don't. You need to look at the big picture and you need to understand what makes us humans and what makes us humans is what will one day set us free and become actually civilized. But if you don't understand that then we can not agree to anything, I'm afraid. |
"you are deluded if you believe capitalism is the ultimate solution to our problems and that nothing better will ever be invented."
less deluded at least than thinking communism is a good thing with all of the historical evidence we've seen
"As for evolution its point is to produce (eventually) intelligence and self awareness"
no, that's wrong, if at some point the characteristics that lead to intelligence (like skull size) are not selected for, then they will be eliminated by evolution
"humans and intelligence has allowed us to extract ourselves from the food chain and to master technology which in turn we use to better our lives so from that point it is logical to assume that eventually we'll create a society where predatory systems are a thing of the past"
competition is what drives people to do better and as a result causes individuals to drag society as a whole forwards... and how does competition come about?
the "predatory instinct" as you call it is simply our desire to grow more powerful and rise up dominance hierarchies... that is largely what has allowed us to progress this far so i'd actually argue that again you have it backwards
just because it has some negative side effects does not mean its all bad or that its net result is even a negative
" if we are only capable of creating a system that is predatory in its own way, there would be no substantial difference between staying in nature with its food chain and extracting ourselves from it."
the goal of civilisation has never been to create a completely safe space because safety is antithetical to progression
"But that does not mean we will NEVER develop a non predatory culture. "
and what does that mean? a culture where no one ever has the desire to take advantage of someone else?
or where everyone is a slave with no ability to advance and differentiate from other people and therefore even though they may want to, they aren't allowed to take advantage?
"You need to look at the big picture and you need to understand what makes us humans and what makes us humans is what will one day set us free and become actually civilized."
wrong - do you want to know what defines the human experience more than anything else?
- being limited in our perception while being sentient and the sad truth about it is that this will always result in there being conflict unless some higher power sets in and forces everyone to ignore their base drives and be peaceful
but is it even a bad thing that there is conflict? i would say no, conflict is necessary for humans to advance in many ways, sure it results in a whole a lot of bad things like war but our drive to compete and get into conflict with each is also what as i said earlier created civilisation - individuals through competition finding new more efficient ways to do things
" Do you know the future? Do you know what mankind will be thousands of years from now?"
well as long as we have some degree of individuality conflict will be present which to me is ok and beneficial... otherwise the only other state really is one where we are like a bee hive or ant hive - where there's no individuality, no conflict and everyone has one goal... i personally wouldn't want to live in that state but i suppose you want to just so there's no conflict
