I have multiple friends who were, none pressed charges.  They repressed it and only open up to those close to them years later.  It is severe trauma that haunts them and then they think no one will believe them because of thinking like this.  

 

People think it's just the 5 minutes or whatever, but it's years and hundreds of thousands of dollars of damages. Usually the pain is permanent too. Anyone who thinks raping anyone (especially children) are inferior humans, and it's hard to see why they shouldn't be viewed as the bottom of society.

It is only in recent decades we've come to acknowledge post traumatic stress and the harm it does to the psyche.  Even the physicaly strongest soldiers can hold deep mental scars they struggle to discuss for years after combat.  We should show compassion rather than judgment in these scenarios.
