You can perfectly enjoy any of these games in limited forms if you don't pay. That is the point isn't it? We didn't use to have to pay extra beyond the money we just handed to buy the game.

Not to mention these things are gambling and should be taxed. I just don't get why governments aren't all over that. 

 

Theres 2 ways of fixing the situation. Either govs tax it like gambling and will at least de-incentivate it, or gamers boycott the games that do it. 

My god it's just a "trading card" mode in FIFA, all other modes don't have lootboxes. And you know what? People love that mode. Don't like it? There are a gazillion other modes to play. Oh but you don't even play FIFA, you just want game modes to be taxed. According to your logic, trading card games and chocolate eggs with a toy in it should be taxed as well. Think about it for a minute and realise how bizarre your post is.
