You should have been here commenting on the Wii back in 2006.  You could have pretty much kept most of the same response.

Well, while the Wii processing power was no world record at the time, the difference between the Wii and the other systems was smaller than things are today so I could have made that comment back then but it would have been on the edge of irrelevancy, so much so that most people haven't even bothered trying to defend the Switch as a home system but have been insisting it's a handheld cause even they must admit that as a home system it's egregiously behind the others.

I was mainly referencing the statement about not being able to support current TVs that just came to market recently.  The Wii only had component cables and I believe stuck at 480p just like the GC.  Flat panel TVs were still not mass market at the time of launch but once prices dropped they were mass market around the middle or towards the end of the generation.  I believe I didn't get my first flat panel TV till about 2009 or so.

Basically, you are insulting the Switch's inability to go past 1080p and that they aren't taking advantage of the current generation of TVs that have higher definition outputs.  The situations seems very similar considering ultra high def TVs aren't even close to having a majority share yet.  If I would take a guess that won't happen for another 2-3 years.
