Friday news, part two:

Samorost studio unveils the debut trailer for its new game, Chuchel
http://www.pcgamer.com/samorost-studio-unveils-the-debut-trailer-for-its-new-game-chuchel/
Amanita Design, the developer of Samorost, Machinarium, and Botanicula, teased a new project late last year called Chuchel. It didn't reveal much at the time, except that the titular character looked very much like a furry acorn with anger management issues. Today the studio released the game's first proper teaser, and by all appearances that early impression was exactly right.

Forza Motorsport 7 VIP package changed in response to player complaints
http://www.pcgamer.com/forza-motorsport-7-vip-package-changed-in-response-to-player-complaints/
Forza Motorsport 7 rolled out earlier this week, and it's quite good. But changes to the VIP system left many fans unhappy: In previous Forza games the VIP upgrade included a permanent double credit booster, but in FM7 it was dialed back to five "mod cards," each of which could be used five times. That did not go over well, particularly given the language used in the original Forza Motorsport 7 listing on the Microsoft Store, which noted (via Windows Central) "additional benefits including 100% CR bonus Mods, VIP Driver Gear, and more."

Sledgehammer pledges to tackle cheaters in Call of Duty: WWII
http://www.pcgamer.com/sledgehammer-pledges-to-tackle-cheaters-in-call-of-duty-wwii/
I blew a full weekend's worth of gaming on the recent Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer beta, and I have to agree that it was "pretty damn fun." I also agree that cheaters are the worst, although that's mostly a matter of principle: Aside from one bonehead single-handedly holding the bridge in a War mode match, I didn't encounter substantial amounts of skulduggery.
Nonetheless, Sledgehammer said in a post-beta update that it's aware of problems with hackers, and has plans to deal with them.

Chris Avellone may be teasing a new Fallout game
http://www.pcgamer.com/chris-avellone-may-be-teasing-a-new-fallout-game/
It might be nothing—it's probably nothing—but Avellone posted an image of three Vault Boys on his timeline on September 29, one of them with his hand on an RPG Bible, one reading a plot outline, and one apparently in love with his big brain, to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of the original Fallout. That in itself isn't necessarily a big deal: 20 years is a big number, and one worth celebrating, after all.

Epic confirms 'thousands' of Fortnite: Battle Royale cheaters have been banned
http://www.pcgamer.com/epic-confirms-thousands-of-fortnite-battle-royale-cheaters-have-been-banned/
Sledgehammer isn't the only game studio that's struggling to deal with cheaters in its latest online creation. In a recent message about unfair play in Fortnite: Battle Royale, Epic said that tackling them is its "highest priority."

Call of Duty: WWII includes classic map from original games
http://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-wwii-includes-classic-map-from-original-games/
If you played the original Call of Duty, its 2004 United Offensive expansion, or Call of Duty 2 one year later, you'll probably remember Carentan. The French rural town was one of these games' most iconic maps—and now a modern interpretation is heading to Call of Duty: WWII.

Power can be purchased in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord
http://www.pcgamer.com/power-can-be-purchased-in-mount-blade-bannerlord-2/
Planning goes a long way in Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord's Captain Mode, but what of its single player? Taleworlds has now outlined how 'influence' acts as a currency that'll determine the strength of your army.

Star Citizen alpha 3.0 out now for testing
http://www.pcgamer.com/star-citizen-alpha-30-out-now-for-testing/
During my hands-off demonstration of Star Citizen at Gamescom, Chris Roberts told me the then estimated September 4-8 due date for its 3.0 alpha was doable. It wasn't, clearly, but it now seems the long-awaited and much-anticipated update is live on the game's Public Test Universe for its Evocati Test Flight volunteer members.

Telltale's Batman features real image of assassinated Russian diplomat
http://www.pcgamer.com/telltales-batman-features-real-image-of-assassinated-russian-diplomat/
Telltale's episodic Batman: The Enemy Within series launched earlier this year. Its second episode landed this week, and appears to feature a real life image of an assassinated Russian ambassador.

>>poklane has made a thread about this, imho, massive mistake by Telltale.

And now, let's see what do GOG and Steam have for us:

+GOG

There are a lot of deals at GOG right now, but they can summarized in four subjects: the weekly sale, Special Promos, Star Wars and SNK.

• Let's start with the weekly sale: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171002_weekly_sale_disney_variety
• If we take a look at the special promos, we see that there are two:
  • Starpoint Gemini Warlords is up to 50% off: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171005_special_promo_starpoint_gemini_warlords
  • War of the Overworld is up to 72% off: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171005_special_promo_war_for_the_overworld
• It's about Star Wars now:
  • The Star Wars Blaster Bundle sale: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171002_weekly_sale_disney_star_wars_bundle_i
  • The Star Wars Saber Bundle sale: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171002_weekly_sale_disney_star_wars_bundle_ii
  • The Classic Lucasfilm Adventures sale: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171002_weekly_sale_disney_lucasfilm_classics
  • And the Iconic Movie Platformers sale: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171002_weekly_sale_disney_platformers
• And finally, like I posted yesterday, SNK:
  • SNK Fighter Pack: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171005_special_promo_snk_fighting_pack
  • SNK Action Pack: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171005_special_promo_snk_action_pack
  • SNK Arcade Pack: https://www.gog.com/promo/20171005_special_promo_snk_arcade_pack

+Steam

Compared to what GOG has, Steam's offers look a bit pale, but that doesn't mean that we can't find something for us:

• The Call of Duty franchise is on sale, up to 66% off! (actually, it's 50%, the only item with a 66% is Ghost's deluxe edition): http://store.steampowered.com/sale/cod/
• Iceberg is the chosen publisher for this weekend's Sale, featuring games like Starpoint Gemini, for example: http://store.steampowered.com/sale/iceberg

And that's all folks! I hope you have a happy and gaming weekend.
