heh, that is pretty silly as well. Yeah, it is more profitable, monopolies usually are But it doesn't give the players/fans as much freedom as they perhaps should have. Although their salaries aren't exactly small so there's not too much incentive on their side to try and change it and fans usually seem entertained enough to not demand their cities get teams too much. Too bad Quebec is still being overlooked on that front though, perhaps next time?

The NHL would rather put have teams play in empty arenas in Florida and Arizona.
