heh, as a European salary caps seem stupid to me by default. So does many other things in American leagues, like players being owned by the league and tied to specific teams and stuff. When are y'all gonna unionise and fix that?

I don't think anything' going to change, it's just more profitable this way. American sports teams do much better financially than European teams. There are other stupid things about North American sports. One example is territorial rights. Even though my city has almost 400,000 people, there's no way Toronto would let us have a professional team even though it's 2.5 hours away from here! Unlike in England where pretty much any city can set up a professional team.
