Considering the attempt of gaming forums and enthusiasts to shit all over this since it was revealed, I'm pleasantly surprised by those review scores. I enjoyed the first one a great deal, so I'll probably pick this up before the year is over.

Reviewers tend to ignore Micro's, or it don't hinder their scores that much because of their whole time crunch. This is their job, they only have say 20 hours to review a game or something, so they just play the base ol' game and then review it. Thus the "GRIND" required to get the great loot they don't experience.

Then this one added Micro's and it dropped off my radar.

I watched the IGN review and the guy basically just said to ignore the microtransactions, all they do is speed up the process of getting good gear, which seems rather pointless in a singleplayer game anyway... I'll be doing it the good ol' fashioned way through the nemesis system, lol.

As I kind of said above, reviewers aren't players. A person playing this game will probably want the best gear, and will then go about that "grind" to get it. The reviewer does not have the time to get that gear. They are on deadlines and thus for the part of the review can IGNORE the micro's.

This is a single player game. Micro's shoudl not exist. I don't care if i can do it all in-game with ingame currency. I know that just like NBA 2k18 that they will make the ingame grind much worse in order to intice one to buy it. Hell at least NBA2k18 from what complaining I've seen isn't RNG. This is fuckign RNG chests in a single player game.

It used to be where you would play a single player game and find some gear and to complete the set of said gear you complete tasks, challenges or find it elsehwere in teh world. Hell, look at Breath of the Wild. You could find a climbers gear chest piece in a chest somewhere and the other peices elsewhere. It was not some RANDOM rng loot that you migth get it or not. In this game, you might find something really cool and the onloy way of getting theo ther peices are to get them in a chest. Go and save up in game coins and buy that chest, you get something else. You could get the piece you want on the first time, or never, no matter how many you purchase. Odds are you will get it sometime, but just as someone can flip a coin and gets heads a million times in a row, you coudl also never get it. Tack on to that, the fact that they will make this in-game currency harder more grindy to get to intice purchasing, you get the picture.
