I don't get why anyone would think Minecraft was a bad move. Do you know how much money MS has? Microsoft has so much money, that they were willing to pay that much for Minecraft because they believed the profit generated from it annually, would outweigh the amount of interest the money they used for Minecraft would accrue annually sitting in a bank account. Just a stupid amount of money. And Minecraft was a good acquisition. There aren't only vidya games but books, toys, clothing, all kinds of shit.

If the Minecraft deal we're taking away from other gaming prospects, ok, maybe. But good luck proving that. And even then.... it's fucking Minecraft.

so.. How did it improve the xbox division?

If they were doing the Minecraft deal to improve Xbox then I doubt we'd be seeing Minecraft on other consoles. Again, Minecraft encompasses a lot more than games. This was a big deal for MS that was a smart deal even outside their own gaming division. Just don't make the mistake of assuming that 2.5 billion on Minecraft came out of the Xbox budget lol.

Thats the problem with fans, we know its not doing what it should be. Xbox sales have droped this year, Minecraft sells more on othr platforms, They wasted so much money that could have bought multyple studios that make multyple games each, but untill Phil comes out and says "yea we probably should not have done that" fans like you will keep saying, "this is the best thing ever". You guys have to learn to be critical of what you love, its the only way to improove.

Yeah, go ahead and link to where I said the Minecraft deal is "the best thing ever!!". I said it makes business sense for them. I don't play Minecraft, I don't care who owns it. Also, your mistake is in assuming that because they spent such and such on one thing, that they'd have spent that money on studios if the Minecraft deal didn't exist :)

Maybe the problem is non-fans. I don't particularly care for MS games, never really have. I like their controllers, hardware, and Live. I am fine with Microsofts output. It's not about not knowing how to be critical, it's about tastes.
