Duuuuh. I've been thinking all this time that you meant there was somehow remnants of what that movie depicted in our distributions of tables and chairs, which is why I was so confused. I never ever stopped to think about how shitty our tables are until you brought it up. xD

Your whole post seemed like it was implying Spain educated children toward fascists ideologies, which is why I was still trying to point that out with every reply. There was probably a miscommunication here somewhere; doesn't help we're in a thread that claims as such, too, based on OP's headline.

Selectivity is basically an access exam you undertake that touches all the subjects you've done in High School (not all all, most of them, plus you get extra side subjects you can choose to partake with or not). Depending on the score you get, out of a total of 14, you get access to several universities. Medicine school, for example, has the highest requirement, 12. Scoring over that might get you some extra scolarships.

I don't disagree with the notion that the Spanish educational system needs a revamp asap. It's something I also say in my post, because it's true. I also said that my schools and university are terrible, so I don't disagree either with the fact that some places are worse than others.

Geez, I'm glad we cleared that one up! XD

Going back to my post, yeah I can see how you might get that Idea, but it was absolutely not my intention. I think we're basically on the same page, it's just that you thought (maybe based on my dramatic wording and the overall topic in OP) that I was impling that the school system was intentionally fostering fascism, while I was like:'I wish I had never brought up the damn chairs!' XD

We agree that it needs a revamp, then, wich is really all I meant to say. Well, that and that I find some things the spanish government is doing very worrying, wich is why spain needs well edcated and critical citizens. The topic apparently got away from me a little....

edit: Oh and thanks for explaining the Selcetivity! Our system also involves a test, but is very diffrent overall, so that was very helpful. I think my BF took it if I remember correctly, but his results didn't really matter because he didn't intend to study in spain.
