The Wii was amazing and loved by many. The only people who usually hate it are on the game forums. That is normal because game forums don't like Nintendo most of the time. I remember there was a post I read that was from 1989 that talked about how overrated the NES was and how nothing on it was better than anything on the Atari 2600. (I am not making this up)
At the time of its release the Wii was seen as the "destroyer of gaming" as if it was going to destroy people's very love of life. Wii Fit might as well be one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse. However I am getting sidetracked.
I loved the Wii. I spend probably spent like 5,000 hours or more on that system. I remember being amazed at games like Mario Galaxy and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. Also the system has so many hidden gems it is really unbelievable. To this day I am still finding games on that system that I want. The only real complaint I have with the system is the lack of RPG's and the lack of motion plus based games. Also Skyward Sword sucked.
If I were to rank the Nintendo home consoles the Wii would probably at #2 or #3. Only the SNES and NES can really compete with the Wii for me.
