Not here. The US sells guns to other countries like Mexico which would just give the Cartels an even larger funding source. Criminals would just get even more weapons that are completly untraceable and still use them.  All making them illegal does is give riminals more revenue and another commodity in high demand while leaving law abiding citizens at the mercy of those criminals. 

How will criminals get more weapons?  And how will they get completely untracable weapons?  And how does that give the criminals more revenue?

Guns will continue to flow to countries like MExico from the US. Gun Manufactureres will also just move to other countries and still continue to sell them. Cartels will in turn have a new market that is in demand because the local laws outlaw them. Those guns will not be traceable because in the US when a firearm is sold it is registered to the buyer, since the sale will now be black market none of the weapons coming into the US will be registered making them untraceable.
