Yes, BUT they weren't always going to announce it this early is my guess.  Feels like this is ROTR all over again. I had no doubt it would come to PS4 in 2018. Yet others did have doubt.

So they are announcing it before it even comes out to the XB1. It is the same as SE announcing ROTR for ps4 before it even launched on XB1.

That doubt of "will it, won't it" is worth a lot imo. So to have it wasted before the game(s) even come out has to hurt marketing some.

Wasn't the issue that Sony doesn't allow early access games on ps4? It's not like ROTR. But perhaps Epic forced them to make a 'finished' version for ps4 asap if they want that userbase.
