Assassin's Creed: Origins lands one month from today, bringing with it puzzle-filled pyramids, Witcher-like investigation, and Caesar and Cleopatra. Expect new words on that from our Tom over the next few days. If you're yet to sample what's come thus far, though, the Assassin's Creed series is on sale now through Friday on Steam.

Valve removes 173 'spam' games from Steam, all published by one person

173 games were removed from the Steam store yesterday, which may be a record. As Polygon reports, the removed games include titles such as Fruit Candypop, Rage Parking Simulator 2017, SHAPES4, SHAPES5, SHAPES6, and, who could forget, SHAPES7. Sure enough, SteamDB shows that all of the games in the list were updated about 18 hours ago, and none of them have Steam store pages anymore (though existing owners should still be able to play them).

At E3 this year, Bethesda unveiled the Creation Club—a mod-driven initiative for Fallout 4 and Skyrim in response to its ill-fated paid mods scheme of 2015. The developer maintains this iteration is not a paid-mods scheme, and Fallout 4's portion is now live. Skyrim Special Edition's isn't just yet—the main game has not yet been updated—but its dedicated Steam page has been rolled out.

A frequent, and mostly unfair, question levied at ZeniMax's The Elder Scrolls Online is: Is this like multiplayer Skyrim? It's not, but the Skyrim Together mod is. After years of hobbyist development, the mod which lets "2+ players" band together in Tamriel plans to release its first stable version before the end of the year.

Bethesda has released a new trailer for Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. This trailer shows an in-game cut-scene in which the resistance leader Horton Boone is holed up in the city of New Orleans, a now rundown wasteland that’s been walled off by Nazi forces.

 

New gameplay trailer released for Need for Speed Payback

Electronic Arts has released a new gameplay trailer for Need for Speed Payback. In this new NFS title, players will head out into Liberty Desert, traverse the mountain roads of Mount Providence, cruise around downtown or simply park up and admire the sunset from Silver Canyon. The game is currently scheduled for a November 10th release.

In a really shocking turn of events, Atlus attempted to take down the Patreon page of RPCS3. According to the publisher, Persona 5 is not currently meant to be played on the PC platform – something that is possible thanks to this emulator – and that a blog post from the RPCS3 team provided specific instructions for “dumping the disc or PSN download.”
