From April 2016 to March 2017 15 million xperia phones were sold.

While a small drop in the water for overall smartphone sales, it's higher than the switch will do in the same time frame. 

I guess Nintendo must not be selling too many millions either.

There is a difference though.  Sony can't collect anything from apps sold on Google store yet Nintendo can collect third party royalties and sell their own software.

So Nintendo is selling hardware and software and Sony is selling hardware.
