Neither of those two machines plays the same games as their predecessors and both are selling or have sold like crazy. Microsoft is trying to artificially change the console business. I have a PS4 Pro and a PS4 (and a NN3DS and a 3DS) and inevitably there will be a Switch update. For as long as I can remember, they've been releasing console updates (which is really all the Xbox One X is). Even the PS1 and Gameboy have had multiple iterations.
