@bold Proof? just wondering

And afaik Vita sales are lopsided in Winter due to the release of a few games, while Wii U just had a constant baseline. Late September and Early October are the worst weeks for Japan and even some in November.

No, you are wrong. Completely wrong. Wii U was significantly more lopsided during the holiday season.

How much of the console's yearly sales came from just December:

2014:
Vita - 24.39%
Wii U - 31.76%

2015:
Vita - 26.56%
Wii U - 34.74%

2016:
Vita - 19.81%
Wii U - 10.77%

How much of the console's yearly sales came from November+December:

2014:
Vita - 32.96%
Wii U - 45.52%

2015:
Vita - 34.81%
Wii U - 49.57%

2016:
Vita - 27.11%
Wii U - 19.74%

In 2015, Vita actually sold 3k more than Wii U from January to October, but Wii U outsold Vita by 780k for the entire year because of the holiday season. (2.68M to 3.46M)

Vita was never a big seller during the holidays. It has a low ratio of holiday to non-holiday sales, even for PlayStation consoles.

As for proof:

Wii U 2016:
May: 102,649
June: 123,129
July: 105,281

Vita 2017:
May: 38,693
June: 44,572
July: 34,029

Vita is barely selling over a third of what Wii U did last year.

By winter I only mean end of December to March. If I meant holidays I would say holidays, but Japan doesn't have strong Novembers.

Vita 2017> Wii U 2016 Yet there you have >300k during the slow months for Wii U and only 120k for Vita. Further proof that Vita sold a ton during Winter in comparison.
