It isn't rocket science. Neither is a quick Google search. RE7 recouped its development costs, and if you weren't so busy trying to be condescending, this would have taken two minutes of your time.

It underperformed to their own expectations. Recouping development costs means little. Companies want to make profit, and a lot of it at that. 

Capcom's games are bombing left and right and selling less and less with each sequel.

This would have taken you one second to figure out if you actually read Capcom's financial reports.
