Lol, Capcom did not "betray" Playstation fans by going to 3DS. I bet anything that the Japanese Monster Hunter fanbase just migrated to 3DS, some might have done it before Monster Hunter was even announced.
Monster Hunter has never been a big prerogative until recently in the West, so I doubt Capcom ever though "But what about our overseas fans who only by PSP versions of Monster Hunter?" In the end the switch to 3DS was good. The sales became more consistent ... even if technically speaking one sku on PSP outsold the single skus on 3DS ... which is to be expected because of all the rereleases
Now we get a better Monster Hunter that's multiplat. Everyone is happy. Well .. except people who actually play Monster Hunter portably.
But who cares about them! Mwahahahaha
(but seriously release it on Switch when it's optimized)
