One of the main reasons I preferred the N64 is I swear it seemed like it always got the better versions of 3rd party games. Rainbow Six currently comes to mind but I know there where more.
I was pretty young at the time of the N64 I got an N64 when I was 8 (in December of 1998) but I just loved the Nintendo games compared to the games that was put on the PS1. With that said my brother (who is 5 years older) tremendously preferred the PS1 to the N64. Take this as you will
With that said I think some of that was because I was young and I was not as knowledgeable about gaming as I am now. I have a feeling if I would have been older my opinion may have changed but probably the best memories of my gaming life where done on an N64 and I played it straight up until the PS3. Freaking loved that machine
