AAA studio or indie makes no difference to me. I disapprove of blatantly copying a game or its assets (like Limbo of the Lost copying Oblivon, or Legend of the Titan being a cheap Chinese rip-off from Overwatch). Fortnite adapting PUBG's game mode is more akin to Crash Team Kart Racing being a nod to Mario Kart to me. Is it original? No. But who cares? If a genre is succesful, other devs will make their own versions of it. Can't see anything wrong with it.

mskes no difference to you, to me it does, because I look at the value of the company, size of staff, scope of project, monety they have, money they make etc, taking all that into account makes for variable differences, rather than simply looking at Mechanic A and mechanic B and calling both studios the same and equals.

Who is going to force China to stop blantantly ripping off everyone? (since we're talking an entire country vs one studio telling said country to knock it off, that'll work for sure).

I find that they had all the time in the world to make a BR mode, yet they only chose to when PuB exploded. They had years to foster that kind of craze that's been created.
