CES - January GDC - March E3 - May TGS - September PGW - October PSX - December They basically have 6 conferences a year, all targeted at different things. Then they do a few smaller events for specific regions as well. The thing I would like to see change is a move back to the broader coverage conferences. Since the XBO blow up, Sony and Microsoft have shift away from anything non game related. This makes the platforms feel hollow, and unimaginitive. I would like to get back to the days where OS, Network, Services, and Apps, all have a place in the conferences. Games are obviously the highlight of PlayStation, but it is a much wider reaching platform than games alone. I think a better balance of announcements during the conferences would do good to keep each event fresh. Maybe E3 and PSX can have some focus on Platform features (New firmware features, new network features), while TGS and Paris focus on indies games, then GDC and CES focus on creation tools, media, and productivity. |
Couldn't agree more mate, it's nice to hear about new features. Games are the main draw of course but there are more than enough of them at this point haha
