Good timing. I just upgraded myself. OLED better with blacks, LED better at bright images. Its that simple. LED will always show some light in black because it is back(side) lit. It is unavoidable. But OLED's struggle in very light rooms, that's a fact. I had one in the family room and had to swap it with a QLED I had in the cinema room. I have a LG65B7V and a new 65 inch Sammy QLED. Both very, very good. OLED just pips it when viewed correctly. Sammy wins in a bright environment though. Interesting point on LG is that no matter which TV model you get in the current up to date range, they all have the same panel. The further up the range you go you are just paying for better surround or stand etc.

Good analisys.
Only I would argue OLED looks better even with bright images, the only real issue with oled is burn in, but it's much less noticeable compared light halos on black of LED tvs.
Also, on point all LG TVs have the same panels, despite a huge variance in price between different models.
