I don't know how to feel about this. On the one hand, I think this is spinning a narrative that could potentially be dangerous to any criticisms about the shallowness and causality of modern RPGs. Given that Jim Sterling seems to prefer depth driven experiences(oh wait no he fucking doesn't he likes Hellblade) it's surprising to see him make fun of people who could be miscontrued as genuine critiquers
South Park does this kind of thing all the time where they make huge blanket statements that make fun of a belief. Where South Park gets it right is that it's actually fucking funny and it then goes on to make fun of the alternative.
I just can't help but think this video mixes in critics with elitists too much. Pretty ironic.
