How many unregulated free markets are there in reality though? I can think of a few examples of cases where governments have intervened to prevent monopolies from forming. Oh and aren't there internet/energy monopolies in some US states? I remember hearing how much US people get screwed over by lack of choice if they live in some areas. |
There aren't many if all pure free market. Yes there may have been some (or several) cases of government intervening to prevent monopolies, but when Mises looked more deeply the forming of the monopoly itself was enabled by the government.
There is even the monopoly for Obamacare in USA, in which the rules for it made some regions have only one provider.

i think government is necessary because we need to have some kind of commonality between the people of an area so they can cooperate properly, but yeah government is both a benefit and a problem at the same time |
I agree, I'm minarquist, there are some percentage of our lives that need commitment and compromise of some liberty to live in society. But the government nowadays go way over it.
