Dont underestimate the Halo fanbase and Halo is a system seller regardless what you guys choose to think. I see the decline theory you guys use and thats just being 1 dementional. Halo 5 didnt do what it should have done due to its game focus. However if Halo 6 is to do worse than it has to sell less than 5m which i would be extremly suprised.

I am a massive fan of the Halo franchise. It's in decline since Halo 3's peak. That cannot be refuted.
Although to be fair... It is also extremely hard to top Halo 3, it was to be the ending of an awesome trilogy, showed us what the Xbox 360 could do graphically, was feature rich and an all round massive game with the marketing budget and fanbase to match.

The Master Chief Collection was a colossal failure, bug ridden, terrible mess. They actually had to port over ODST and give it away for free to make up for their failure.

Halo 5 was also underwhelming on many fronts, it's advertising campaign was not accurate to the story at all, the story itself was a mess, the graphics were mediocre... They claimed to be targeting 60fps, but many effects and animations were only 30fps... It released without staple features found in most Halo games like Forge, Theatre, Abundance of maps and more... In short. Halo 5 should have spent another year in development...
I actually grew bored of Halo 5's multiplayer before any content updates rolled out and thus I moved onto other games, they had lost me for good by that point with Halo 5, life is to short.

Halo 4 was brilliant from an artistic standpoint, although it's Multiplayer had it's shortcomings... And it's Multiplayer population did indeed implode and dwindle quickly after release, could it have been different if Bungie made Halo 4? Possibly. But I think it did well overall considering.

As for Halo 6, it does have the potential to turn it all around. I say "potential" as nothing is definitive, the game isn't released yet.. And considering the stuff ups and retconns 343i has done... Well. I hold reservations.
The Xbox One platform hasn't exactly set the world on fire, thus Halo in general has a smaller playerbase to appeal to compared to other systems, that may impact it's sales potential.

Iv worked in buisness for many years and i have lived though every console generation ever.

That doesn't matter. You don't know what any other user has done or lived through, thus your experience might pale in comparison to others.

If a business is under there sales and lose customers yearly they dont simply close the doors and just ride the wave of shame. They find newer ways to bringing those customers back something 343 is working on with Halo 6 hence why they have been quiet about it. Nintendo did the exact same thing with the Switch from WiiU.

I am hoping Microsoft can pull a Nintendo and make the Xbox great again, competition is a good thing for the market... But Microsoft actually has to work for it, they don't get to have a free pass.
And lets be honest, they really haven't been working for it. I have had ZERO real reasons to turn on and play my Xbox One this year since Halo Wars 2 released back in February. None at all.

Cancelling some highly praised studios like Ensemble Studios and Lionhead is not the right way to go about it, cancelling titles like Scalebound and Fable isn't bringing more exclusives to the platform.

And overall, Microsoft just hasn't been investing in games.
Where is the Xbox One equivalent of a new big AAA exclusive like Horizon Zero dawn for this generation? Or Star Citizen?

I am hoping Microsoft can reinvigorate the brand with the Xbox One X... And the abundance of exclusives that could potentially drop next year, but in 2019? Will we have a repeat of 2017? Possibly the worst year for Xbox since the Original Xbox launched in 2001, 16 years ago?

If Microsoft cannot reinvigorate the brand, then they will retain or even reduce the current low levels of investment... And Nintendo will overtake them with ease once they sort their supply constraints out, possibly within 3-4 years.
Consoles are about playing games first and foremost... Remember that.
