Who has preordered from Gamestop online? What was your experience?

"Knowing you want the game" is often largely an irrational state of mind, so allowing yourself some time to cool off from the hype and reevaluate how much you want the game rationally is a better idea.

I disagree.

I knew I wanted to own ZeldaBOTW.
I know I want to own Mario Odyssey.

In both cases these are franchises where I've loved or really liked every iteration. There is no reason to think that trust would be broken even from the earliers trailers. 

Now, there are plenty of games I think look interesting but I don't "know" I want the game. In those scenarios I either wait for more full trailers to make that decision or I do as you say and wait for post-launch reality.

What is important is how you individually define "know".
