I didn't call it Xenogears. I compared it to Xenogears, because you asked "What else do you want?"

I didn't play Chronicles 1, but I would have if I had a WiiU.
That said, I don't recall that sword being mentioned in the trailers I watched. To refresh my memory I watched the Story Trailer and Launch Trailer again.
And it is not even mentioned at all in any of them.

But even if it had been, you may have missed my point. I didn't say that the story shoudn't contain such elements. I enjoy getting the Master Sword as much as the next person. What I said was that if that's the focal aspect of the trailers, or the story, that's not going to make me interested in the story. And if I'm not, I may never find out if it was actually good or not.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 may turn out to be a fantastic game, but they haven't sold me on it yet.

Agreed, the Monado was never the main driving force of Xenoblade, it was merely a tool. This, the BLADE seems to be the main driving force behind the game while you are the escort. 

It's a typical anime love story.
