Well, for me the way it goes is not that I lose interest in gaming itself per se, it's more that I don't play video games as often as I used to (for the same reason as you, the damn laptop 
) However, video games are always an interest for me, and I love reading and learning about them, so in that sense I haven't lost interest. So, I guess it depends what you mean by that.
