I feel Alien Front: Online on the Dreamcast is a good choice. It's somewhat ironic, because if this game came out now, I'd shun it. But there's no denying I loved it. It didn't sell well or have particularly strong reviews. It had 2 modes:

- Online battle - Choose a side Alien or Human, then one of 3 vehicles and fight it out in up to 4 on 4 battles. Sometimes fight would be uneven. 3 on 1, 4 on 2, ect.

Arcade mode. Pick a side, then one of 3 vehicles, then battle waves of AI from the other side for score. Top ten scores were saved on the server. Why only top ten though? Ha.

It was also the first console game I played, and I think the first ever, with voice-chat. It came bundled with the Dreamcast Mic, which attached to the controller, and allowed for fairly low quality communication in roughly 5 second snippets that would be heard through the TV. A glorious novelty at the time.
