South Park: The Fractured But Whole difficulty slider also changes your skin color
http://www.pcgamer.com/south-park-the-fractured-but-whole-difficulty-slider-also-changes-your-skin-color/
As with many videogames, South Park: The Fractured But Whole includes a slider that players can use to adjust the difficulty level. But as reported by Eurogamer, this slider doesn't just make the game easier or harder, it also adjusts the color of your character's skin: The higher the difficulty, the darker your skin tone.

>>Just like in real life... Anyway, I'm sure you've already shared your thoughts about this at Wyrdness's thread.

Last month, indie outfit Butterscotch Shenanigans announced that its crafting-action-RPG Crashlands had sold more than 500,000 copies, 118,000 of them on the PC. This month, the studio revealed that it is now working on a new project called Scuffle Buddies, which may or may not be some kind of multiplayer esports thing with small animals and a ball.

[Updated] Destiny 2 players are mad that cosmetic shaders are now single-use
http://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-players-are-mad-that-cosmetic-shaders-are-now-single-use/
Update: Destiny 2 director Luke Smith has addressed the single-use shaders controversy on Twitter, though he doesn't indicate whether it'll change or not. "Shaders are earned through gameplay: levelling, chests, engrams, vendors," he wrote. "We expect you’ll be flush w/ Shaders as you continue to play.

>>That sounds like a "we're giving you a lot of those, so don't complain" kind of answer.

CS:GO Lotto controversy results in new transparency measures for 'influencers'
http://www.pcgamer.com/csgo-lotto-controversy-results-in-requirement-for-disclosure/
Last year, YouTubers Trevor 'TmarTn' Martin and Tom 'ProSyndicate' Cassell were accused of promoting a CS:GO Lotto site without disclosing their interest in it (ie, that they joint owned it). Now, the Federal Trade Commission has ordered that they (and everyone else) should "clearly and conspicuously disclose" these connections in the future.

Hearthstone director: 'We absolutely don't think players are stupid.'
http://www.pcgamer.com/hearthstone-director-we-absolutely-dont-think-players-are-stupid/
Earlier this week, Blizzard announced that a slate of pretty significant balance changes would be coming soon to Hearthstone. Among those changes is a nerf to the Warrior card Fiery War Axe. The change takes one of Warrior's hallmark weapons—sometimes affectionately referred to as "Fiery Win Axe"—and bumps it from an outstanding, game-winning card to one that is still good but much more middle of the road.

Wizards said it will give Magic fans "the full rules and ongoing content support for new card sets, just like the revered tabletop game," combined with "fast-paced, exciting, and easy-to-follow matches" for players and online viewers alike.

Cardboard Computer now wants to assure would be players that the console port will not stand in the way of Act 5's development.
