I would think having gone through that you wouldn't want others to go through the same. What, is having other people suffer and have their families torn apart going bring you some satisfaction? Like I understand you're upset, but I don't understand why you would want others to go through that same process, just seems petty to me. Odds are even for Trump, these people will be allowed to stay because even on the Republican side and even from Trump himself I think there is fair amount of pressure to not do something rash. That's why they've extended the deadline to 6 months, so that congress will be able to come up with a way to allow these people to stay legally. Legalize them. Period. Anything short of that is going to be an ugly chapter in US history and there will be a reckoning coming for Republicans in the long run if they think they can keep alienating the Hispanic population forever. If they brand themselves with that image, they are going to pay for it in future elections. |
His personal example I would think of as more like a kidney transplant victim dying because they are too low down in the line, yet someone who just found out they need a transplant jumped them in line because they had money/connections, or some other fishy/illegal method.
America like anything else is not limitless in its resources. We can't take in and feed/house/work, take care of every refugee, alien, immigrant, ect in the entire world. So you need some sort of a legal and fair way to bring in people. So iron_megalith and many other legal immigrants should feel upset when they do things the right and legal way and others bypass the system.
