I know there's areas that drink mineral water which springs forth from the ground; I had some at the Roman baths of... Bath, and it was pretty good despite being mud brown lol
Otherwise, plenty of islands are increasingly dependent on desalination for their water (I have a friend who's made a company and career of providing that for people across the globe, with demand ever increasing). Otherwise, the coolest sources of water I've seen are the various different plants/bamboo shoots and such that you can slice into and suck water out of.
