I personally put it down, but I don't mind at all if people leave it up. I never understood how anybody gets so angry over this, feels like they are just unhappy with their life and use an excuse to vent.

Nah, to me it's just gross. Especially flushing with the seat up. In addition to that, I have sort of a perfectionist ocd personality. Things have to look a certain way before I leave it or present it. It's just stuck with me ever since I was a kid. It's beneficial at times and not at times.
